Donta desires to see the glory of God rest on people who have yielded to the power of God, stepped over the fear of not being enough, and walk in the freedom God has called them.
From an early age of traumatic experiences, Donta believed that it was safer to cope rather than face pain and live in the light. He lived in a fantasy world of optimism rather than embracing reality and finding true power in any circumstance.
Because of this, he learned to create with his gifts from an empty place rather than a place of sonship and divine purpose. This led him on cycles of creative highs and apathetic lows. He would exchanged being present with family and community for temporary comfort and false significance. He constantly battled cycles of shame & addiction, but never feeling free. I was in the unending loop of chasing creativity out of a desperate attempt to satiate the unfulfilled self.
It wasn’t until God met him in his brokenness, through life changing encounters with the Holy Spirit - that he experienced the connection between creative purpose and emotional & spiritual wholeness. He discovered practical tools to live shame-free — where creativity would become an overflow of connectedness to Jesus. -
